Umuahia, Abia State – Methodist Church Nigeria, Archdiocese of Umuahia, has extended warm congratulations to the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, as Abia prepares to host the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Friday, 3rd October 2025. The President’s visit will mark the commissioning of seven completed road infrastructure projects in Aba, a landmark event in the state’s development drive.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Church, the Archbishop of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Archdiocese of Umuahia, His Grace, The Most Revd Dr. Chibuzo Raphael Opoko, TFSG, DOB, JP, described the visit as an eloquent testimony to Governor Otti’s visionary leadership and transformative governance.
The Archbishop noted that the commissioning of the roads—Port Harcourt Road, Ohanku Road, Ndoki Road, Ajiwe Street, Umuatako Road, Chief Nkoro Street and Spurs, and Gabriel Nwosu Street—symbolizes more than infrastructure renewal. It represents a commitment to modernization, safety, and sustainable development, as the projects are equipped with solar-powered floodlights, setting a new standard for Abia’s infrastructural landscape.
The congratulatory message also highlighted the recent two-day working visit of the American Ambassador to Abia State, emphasizing that such high-level engagements are clear indicators of Abia’s rising profile as a hub of progress and an emerging investment destination in Nigeria.
“Through your unwavering commitment to excellence, Abia is now a beacon of progress, an emerging investment destination, and a shining example of what purposeful leadership can achieve,” Archbishop Opoko affirmed. “Truly, Abia is working. Abia is excelling. Abia is transforming. Abia is now an investment destination.”
He further prayed for God’s strength and guidance upon the Governor as he continues to steer Abia State toward greater heights in development and prosperity.
The upcoming visit of President Tinubu, coupled with the international attention from the American Ambassador’s tour, underscores the growing recognition of Abia State as a center for governance innovation, economic revival, and infrastructure excellence.
