Abia is Working, Abia is Excelling, Abia is Transforming”: Archbishop Opoko Hails Gov. Alex Otti Ahead of President Tinubu’s Aba Visit

Umuahia, Abia State – The Methodist Church Nigeria, Archdiocese of Umuahia, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, as the state awaits a historic visit from the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Friday, 3rd October 2025.

The President is scheduled to commission seven newly completed road projects in Aba, underscoring Abia’s growing reputation as a hub of infrastructure renewal and economic transformation.

In his felicitation message, His Grace, The Most Revd Dr. Chibuzo Raphael Opoko, TFSG, DOB, JP, Archbishop of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Archdiocese of Umuahia, lauded Governor Otti’s leadership and commitment to repositioning Abia for progress.

The Archbishop highlighted that the recent two-day working visit of the American Ambassador to Abia State, followed closely by the President’s commissioning visit, signals a resurgent Abia gaining both national and international recognition.

The roads slated for commissioning include Port Harcourt Road, Ohanku Road, Ndoki Road, Ajiwe Street, Umuatako Road, Chief Nkoro Street and Spurs, and Gabriel Nwosu Street, all of which have been fitted with solar-powered streetlights to enhance modernization, safety, and sustainability.

“Through your unwavering commitment to excellence, Abia is now a beacon of progress, an emerging investment destination, and a shining example of what purposeful leadership can achieve,” Archbishop Opoko declared.

He further prayed for Governor Otti’s continued strength and wisdom, emphasizing that these milestones represent a new chapter in Abia’s transformational journey.
