✨ New Rector and Registrar Designates Announced by Methodist Church Nigeria

In a significant leadership development, the Conference of the Methodist Church Nigeria has formally announced the appointment of two distinguished clergy as the incoming Principal Officers of the prestigious Immanuel College of Theology and Christian Education, Samonda, Ibadan.

🔹 Rector Designate: Very Rev. Dr. Joseph Oladehinde Ayodele

Currently serving as Deputy Rector, the Very Rev. Dr. Joseph Oladehinde Ayodele has been named Rector Designate, and will officially assume office following the retirement of the current Rector, The Venerable Dr. Isaac Olukayode Oyeneye, whose tenure concludes on August 31, 2025. Dr. Ayodele is widely respected for his academic depth, theological insight, and administrative competence — attributes that make him well-positioned to lead the college into its next chapter.

🔹 Registrar Designate: Very Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Idowu Ariyo

In the same announcement, the Very Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Idowu Ariyo has been appointed as the Registrar Designate, succeeding The Venerable Dr. James Olagoke Oyewole, who will be retiring after an exceptional 15 years of dedicated service to the college. Dr. Ariyo brings with him a wealth of experience, commitment to excellence, and a passion for theological education.

Dr. Oyewole for their remarkable stewardship and contributions toward shaping the legacy of Immanuel College over the years. In another significant development at the Immanuel College of Theology and Christian Education, Samonda, Ibadan, the Venerable Dr. Lawrence O. Kupolati has been appointed as the Deputy Rector Designate of the institution.

This appointment will take effect from 1st September, 2025, following the transition of leadership within the college’s administrative structure.


Ven. Dr. Kupolati brings to the role a wealth of theological knowledge, ministerial experience, and academic leadership that aligns with the vision of the college—to raise godly, sound, and spirit-led ministers of the gospel.
