In a sacred convergence of destiny and divinity, Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Owerri under the visionary and steady leadership of His Lordship, The Rt. Rev. Geoffrey U. Kanu JP, joyously received the historic Apostolic Visit of her Spiritual Leader — His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba JP, Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, alongside his gracious wife, Ezinne Deaconess Maria Oyaidu Aba, the revered Mother General. Arriving ahead of schedule at Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, His Eminence was welcomed in a regal ceremony that blended tradition, spiritual dignity, and heartfelt celebration. A royal garland was presented, and a Guard of Honour by the Association of Methodist Brigade (AMB) set the stage for a transformational day.

The suburbs of Orji burst into jubilation as the Apostolic convoy arrived. A brief but spirit-laden service was held at St. Silas Methodist Pro-Cathedral.
π Highlight: A traditional kola nut presentation was offered, symbolizing peace and covenantal hospitality in Igbo culture.
Garlands, songs, and cultural dancers greeted His Eminence. The visit culminated in a vibrant session of worship at Wesley Methodist Church, where the school is located.
π Another kola nut ceremony was held, reinforcing the cultural and spiritual connection.
✝️ 3. Cathedral of Unity, Owerri (Cathedral Zone)
Owerri’s spiritual epicenter, the Cathedral of Unity, hosted the final Owerri segment of the tour. It was a spectacle of joy, celebration, and heavenly atmosphere.
π₯ The Word That Ignited Hearts: A Message of Resurrection Faith
His Eminence brought a life-transforming sermon from John 11:1–7, titled:
“Harnessing the Transformative Power of Faith – This Sickness is Not Unto Death”

> “Even when it seems God is late, He is still on time. Jesus still answers, heals, and restores.”
He urged believers to hold firm like Mary and Martha, trusting in the resurrection power of Christ in all situations.
π️ Tribute was paid to Prelate Emeritus, Dr. S.C.K. Uche, who once served as Bishop of Owerri and laid strong foundations for today’s spiritual advancement.

To round off the glorious day, Prof. Gazie Okpara (Immediate Past Lay President, Diocese of Owerri) and his wife Dr. (Barr.) Mrs. Chizoba Okpara hosted the Prelate and his team in a richly blessed evening of fellowship, music, and prayer.
The Prelate, filled with gratitude, offered powerful prayers and blessings upon the family and guests.

As the sun set on Owerri, the Prelate departed for Aba, where the next phase of the Apostolic Tour continues with a scheduled visit to Ndoro Diocese on June 18, 2025.
