About Us

Welcome to the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Owerri

Rooted in the Wesleyan heritage and aflame with the Holy Spirit, the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Owerri stands as a beacon of faith, transformation, and community impact in the heart of Imo State. As one of the vibrant dioceses under the Connexional structure of Methodist Church Nigeria, our mission is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, nurture believers in holiness, and serve humanity with love and excellence.

From the sanctuaries of the Cathedral of Unity, Owerri, to the vibrant fellowships in our local churches, the Diocese of Owerri is a living witness to God’s love, power, and presence in the heart of Imo State. We are a Spirit-led family in Christ, rooted in Wesleyan traditions and marching forward in mission, worship, and service.

Under the spiritual oversight of His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Uzochukwu Kanu JP, the Diocese is committed to holistic ministry that reaches the soul, renews the mind, and restores communities.
